The Udaipur City Palace

On the Road for: 1799 days. Now in: Hanoi – again

So, it’s all Ruslana’s fault. You know, the Ukrainian entry that won the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest? As we were watching her last May, we said to each other that if she won we would go and see her in the Ukraine. A couple or five beers later, Ruslana had won, and our plans had expanded to spend 12 months in Eastern Europe and Russia.

Then we went to Vietnam and Cambodia for 6 weeks last September. Our plans were rehatched – 2 years round the world!

So, 1st January we began redecorating the house.

We put the house up for sale on 4th April.

We’re now impatiently waiting. As soon as we exchange contracts, we’re handing in our notices, grabbing our rucksacks, and we have a rough idea where the first 4 years might take us

OK so it took me until today to read your commentbut one has to sober up for these big foreign words. But it certainly looks a little appetizing . I could not see that making it all the way home without having to be sampled on a regular basis to ensure the product has not deteriorated. I refer to my first comment and plead insanity I know I can get away with that one

[...] Kiev. Home of the luscious Ruslana – winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, and completely oblvious to the part she played in us becoming intrepid adventurers. So we left Minsk on the 20:50 night train to Kiev. We were lucky enough to get the only 2-bed sleeping compartment (at no extra cost), all the rest being 4-berth. How glad we were, especially when our neighbours turned out to be Big Hats. We could have ended up sharing our personal space for 13.5 hours with the Belarusian Militia. Oodles of fun. [...]
